Child in the garbage truck

Time of the event: 9.4.1969

The woman arrived at the hospital and said she had given birth to a dead child a couple of days earlier. Based on the woman's story, the researchers found a 25 x 25 cm cardboard box with a girl in the garbage truck in the cooperative's yard. There were two layers of blue wool yarn around its neck. The child weighed 2 pounds and was 45 inches tall.

The child was taken to a doctor for examination, who stated that the child was born alive.

The woman's apartment was examined and it was full of traces of blood. The woman said the child had not stopped crying. She had squeezed the baby from his throat, but it was still moving. Before leaving for work, she had picked up a piece of wool yarn, taken a meter-long piece of it, and wrapped it around the child's neck. She had then put the child in a cardboard box in her wardrobe.

In the evening she had looked at the box. The child had been in exactly the same position as it had been in the morning. She had closed the box and put it back in the closet. The next day, the woman called her fiancé and said she had given birth to a dead child. Only then had the woman taken the cardboard box with its contents to the garbage truck.

In court, the woman claimed she did not know she was pregnant. She received 4 months probation.
