Terhi Tervashonka was sentenced in the district court to 8 years and 6 months in prison for the murder committed while insane. At the beginning of 2000, she
said that she had come to faith and that she was the bride of Christ. Tervashonka was released from prison in 2003 and had changed his last name.
In 2007, Terhi Tukio killed a 47-year-old man with a broom in Vaajakoski. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison for manslaughter. In this case, she had
adopted her former surname again. -If Tervashonka had committed a similar act in the United States, she would have been sentenced to life imprisonment without
the possibility of parole, said an American juvenile court judge.
