School disco
Time of the event: 7.9.1998, Karhula
A 17-year-old boy killed a 14-year-old boy with his adult friend in Kotka Karhula. The victim was coming from the school disco on a bicycle when he was stopped
and the senseless violence began. The perpetrators laughed at the boy's pleas for help and mercy and continued to abuse him until the victim died.
The boy had been stabbed 122 times and his head was crushed with a stone weighing 13 kilograms. Veli-Tuomas Matviala, who was 17 years old at the time of the
murder, was sentenced to 11 years and 5 months in prison.
