Nylon stocking murder, part 1. A 26-year-old woman was strangled with a nylon stocking at Puistokatu 4.
Nylon stocking murder, part 2. A 16-year-old girl was also strangled with a nylon stocking at Haapalähteenkatu 7.
Ilkka Kivioja, a 17-year-old barber student, was revealed to be the perpetrator of both of these murders. He was sentenced for two murders, for each of them 9
years in the penitentiary room, the total length of the sentences was 15 years in prison. Kivioja served half of his sentence, being released in the spring of
1972.
He later moved to the capital region, changed his name, and is now a 68-year-old man enjoying his retirement days. Kivioja turned 18 just a couple of weeks after
his second killing job.
